“Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got! Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.”
– Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (The Message)
Family Ministries is all about helping kids grow in their love of Jesus Christ and helping families be a BIG part of that.
Family Ministries is an intentional collaboration of the Director of Children and Camp Ministries and the Director of Youth Ministries working together to oversee Knox’s Family Ministries (Families, Children, Camp, Youth). We also plan other special events like the yearly Children’s Christmas Service, Easter services participation, Knoxapalooza (our end of school year party), programs to equip parents, and other fun events for children and youth.
At Knox we believe each child is special, important, and valuable. We strive to have fun and vibrant programs that instill in kids the fundamental truths of Christianity and where they get to know Jesus up close and personal. We also believe that loving kids and families is the most important part of our ministry. Each Sunday, parents are encouraged to keep their school-aged children with them in the Sunday service until the Children’s Moment to model worship. After the Children’s Moment, the kids are dismissed to their programs.
These programs include Nursery for newborns up to babies who are 24 months, which is located on the first floor by the front office, Tiny Tots for our 2-4 year olds, which is located on the second floor on the south-side of the “Goforth Hall,” and 252s for our “big kids” who are 5 to 10 years of age. At this time, there is Children’s Ministries Programming at the 11AM service only.
Knox Camps is all about making an impact in kids’ lives. We have had a vibrant, quality Christian camp running for the past 40 years and this ministry has been a great opportunity for kids to develop deep friendships, to learn about our great God in fun and interactive ways, and to grow in leadership. Send a kid to camp and have God change them for a lifetime!

Awana is another way for our church to offer discipleship to children in a fun and meaningful way. It is a program that is all about getting to know the truths of what the Bible says about God, and getting it into our hearts. We run it in partnership with our friends from Toronto Alliance Church.
Awana is offered during 3 different sessions that last 8 weeks each between October to May.

Knox Youth has programs for both Junior High (a.k.a. The JAM, grades 6-8) and High School (a.k.a. Young&Free, grades 9-12), where the goal is for the youth to own their faith for themselves. We are a super welcoming group and building relationships is key.
The JAM meets on the 4th Friday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm, and on Sundays the girls meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month while the boys meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
Y&F meets weekly on Fridays from 8:30-10:30pm and we also find service projects to do together and go on weekend camps to deepen and explore our faith.
