Deb Freeman, Hospitality Coordinator
(For all room bookings)

Before coming to Knox, Deb worked in the financial industry.  After joining the church in the early 90s, she started volunteering with Out of the Cold.  That lead to her current position here at Knox.  Her next volunteer position was as Sunday School teacher, and  currently she enjoys singing in the choir..

In her free time Deb likes to train for marathon power walks. She’s married to Ken and has two adult children.

Daniel Paul

Daniel Paul, Evening Custodian

Before coming to Knox, Daniel worked as a full time cook in both India and Toronto.  Approximately twelve years ago, Daniel felt that the Lord lead him to Knox , where he attended and eventually joined the church.  Approximately two years later, Daniel joined the full time Knox custodial staff, which he likes to refer to as his “cleaning Ministry”.

When he’s not at Knox, Daniel enjoys running, gardening, fishing, and weight-training.  Daniel and his wife, Pampa,  enjoy traveling and try to take a long trip every few years.  Another favourite pastime is reading his Bible and cooking for his wife.

Adrieke Smit

Adrieke Smit, Custodian (Part-time)

Formally a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Adrieke found herself looking for a new church home when she moved to Toronto.  One day, approximately five years ago, while taking a long walk, Adrieke walked by Knox and was impressed enough with the building to come inside.  Then she made it her church, where she quickly became a member.  She’s an active member of Open Circle, and helped out with the Out Of The Cold program until job demands made that impossible.  And, in 2007, she even joined the Knox staff on a part-time basis.

When she’s not at Knox, Adrieke enjoys  knitting, sewing, embroidery, reading (Christian books) and gardening. She isa regular member of the women’s badminton team.
