What are those black curtain things in our sanctuary?
Last month we shared the news that Knox will be the first Canadian venue for Eonarium’s immersive light show, Enlightenment: a sound and light show based on Vivaldi's Four Seasons. It will run between November 14 and January 18, and it will attract over 20,000 visitors to our building.
Here’s what you need to know on Sundays for the next while:
The black curtained areas are the projectors and sound equipment for the show. They are carefully placed and we need to do our best to avoid touching them.
Please walk around the setup with care and help everyone (especially our kids!) to not bump into it.
If you have mobility issues (walker, wheel chair, or stroller), please continue to use the north side. There should be room between the stage and the setup to manoeuvre.
You may want to sit in the centre pews. Vision of the stage will be obstructed for some seats, but we think you’ll find it’s not too bad! Please choose a seat where you can see our worship leaders well.
Kids! Transept areas are still open! The projectors are in the area, but we’ve arranged the seats so they have reasonable sight lines to the stage. For the Kids’ moment, please gather in the centre in front of the communion table. When it’s time, Sam or another leader will help ensure you exit the sanctuary without the projectors getting in your way.
The balcony will be closed for the duration of the show (except to our AV team).
Let this setup be a reminder to pray for all the visitors our pews will seat in the next 3 months. Each one is someone we know God loves. Let’s ask the Spirit to pique curiosity about church and to open ways for many to encounter Jesus.
How long will these black curtains be up? They will be taken down January 19.
Do you have any questions about the setup?
Please speak with Chris or Sam Mudiappahpillai.
